Great steamed milk depends on getting several things right at the same time — the position of the steam wand, the angle of the jug, the movement of the milk and the time spent steaming.
Traditionally, all of that relies on the skill and attention of the person holding the jug.
The milk jug is placed on the Barista Wedge® beneath the machine's steam wand, holding it securely in the correct working position. Once set, the relationship between the jug, milk and steam wand remains consistent throughout the steaming process.
That creates the controlled movement needed to produce smooth, evenly textured milk — without the barista continually holding and repositioning the jug.
SET. STEAM. SERVE.
1. Add the milk
Fill the milk jug with the required quantity of milk.
2. Position the jug
Place the jug on the Barista Wedge® and position the steam wand as required.
3. Start steaming
The wedge supports the jug and maintains a consistent working position while the steam does its job.
4. Get on with the next task
Because the jug doesn't need to be continuously held, the barista is free to prepare the espresso, organise the next order or manage another part of the coffee-making process.
5. Serve consistently textured milk
The result is a more repeatable milk preparation process — cup after cup, shift after shift and regardless of who is operating the machine.
